A Healing Container

Reflecting on the May Ancestral Ceremony

This life is something so fragile. We really are just passing through. We never know when it will be our last breath. And it is something so beautiful that we have and it’s really an opportunity. When I take time to step back and look at my life from a wider lens it becomes clear that it is important for me to live my life in a good way. It has become clear to me that I am here to awaken to the truth of being. So, it bears the question if I am using this precious lifetime in the right way?

Just about a week ago we finished our ancestral shamanic retreat and it was something really beautiful for me. There was just so much goodness; the medicine itself, having Taita Juanito and Taita Carlos leading us, the new addition to our medicine family Peia Luzzi, the incredible team who came together to support this event, and the amazing people who came together from all over the world to heal. However, what stuck out for me the most now looking back is this deep sense of family.

I remember sitting in my living room the first night of the retreat as were getting organized amongst the team for the week ahead. I looked around and said what a blessing it is to have all of you here really amongst my best friends. What a unique thing that your closest friends are those that you can work together with and share in this life. For me these people are ones I keep close not because of what they have done or will do but because they are deeper seekers of truth and that is who I want to surround myself with. They are genuine people with their own struggles but with the goal of living a good life and helping others.

This container of family is what has been built stronger and stronger over the years and it can be felt as the glue of the retreat. It is also felt in such a strong way with Blue Spirit and all of the lovely staff that is there. It is something so special for me to hold the retreats at Blue Spirit as this retreat center was started by my father and he was the one who originally brought me to the medicine.

When medicine retreats are held in this way there is clear safety and this allows for deep healing with these sacred medicine plants. I am so grateful to life for its Grace that has brought this all together.

We will be holding our next retreats July 2-9, August 13-20 and Dec 17-24.

We would love to have any feedback from you below in comments!
